In his youth, Pastor Miles was saved while listening to his mother witness to someone in their home. Pastor Miles has been preaching since the age of 10. In 1988, Pastor Miles founded Word for Living Ministries. With the enormous growth of this congregation, the ministry became an outreach of the Fresh Anointing Cathedral COGIC, in 1999. With a great passion for outreach, Pastor Miles founded the One Step Substance Abuse Ministry and recently founded the Nehemiah House, a multipurpose center which will house various outreach ministries, including but not limited to Youth Services; After school programming, Day Care Center, Pregnancy Prevention and Care, On-the-Job Training; Adult Education, Senior Day Care, and Family Counseling to name a few.
He has served in many capacities in the church including: Sunday School Superintendent, President of Evangelism, Youth Pastor, Choir Director, Musician, and songwriter. As a singer, he’s appeared on programs with great artists as Shirley Caesar, Timothy Wright, The Clark Sisters, Andre Crouch, and Kirk Franklin. He has also recorded with the Eveready Gospel Singers and Rev. John P. Kee. Gospel promoter, family and clinical counselors, chaplain and worship leader are also some of the titles and tasks performed.
Pastor Miles has, and continues to serve faithfully in the National, State and District aspects of the Church of God in Christ, as special events coordinator for the Pentecostal Pastors Fellowship, Finance Secretary of Pastors and Elders Council, co-chairman of the State of Virginia Resolution Committee and as a National Adjutant Overseer in the COGIC.
Pastor Miles also served as Assistant Superintendent to the late Superintendent Willie Weatherspoon, and was later appointed to the office of Superintendent of the Piedmont District (now, the Commonwealth District) in September 2001.
Pastor Miles holds an honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree from Norfolk Seminary. He is often an invited guest speaker at various levels of educational institutions to share the gospel and encourage students in many states and cities in the country.
When you measure the accomplishments by Pastor Miles, and his lifelong dedication to the church, you come to the realization that Pastor Miles is a believer with the heart of a servant who has an unconditional love for God and his people, a burden to see souls saved, and a vision for a multicultural explosion in the Kingdom of God.
Pastor Miles is a gift from God to Fresh Anointing Cathedral COGIC, the Commonwealth District, our community, and to a lost and dying world.
“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one:” John 17:22
